I like to get my hands messy, I love using glue and scissors and paint and craftying. I also love making things for other people. So I borrowed this idea from my friend Jess, who made me an arrow last year. Much to the amusement of my French Professor who thought it was a gesture from a secret admirer using my friends…it wasn’t. My friends are just that great.
So here is a quick and easy way to express your love…or you know give some cheesy pick-up line like I did on them.
The things you need are simple:
glue, craft paper, scissors, Popsicle sticks, pencil, and sharpies.
What you have to start with is creating a template for your hearts, I folded a piece of plain paper and cut half of the heart on that, it was even. Also cut out a triangle template.
Next assemble! I folded over the heart for the fletching or end of my arrow and cut up a few slits to serve as the “feathers”. Then with two triangles to work as the point. That’s seriously it. That’s all, and if you want to add a quote or note on the shaft of the arrow go right ahead.
I wrote “you’re the Beta to my Alpha” on one of them and sent it to my friend Camille who loves Teen Wolf. I also wrote, “you’re the Doctor to my Companion” for Marissa, and “haveee ya met Mandy?” because How I Met Your Mother and Doctor Who are fun for us all. Have a great Valentine’s Day!
p.s. I totally mailed those out and the recipients should be getting them tomorrow afternoon!
