12 Holiday Themed Writing Prompts

If you’re like me, your holiday spirit is lacking to say the least. It doesn’t feel much like Christmastime is here but in some cage in my heart is trying to break the bars to glorious freedom! So I came up with 12 Holiday Themed Writing Prompts for you guys since it’s only in writing that I’ve been able to feel the spirit make progress in that cage. So without further ado here are the prompts:

  1. Write about the presents that disappeared
  2. “We have a problem… Santa Claus is missing”
  3. A day as one of Santa’s Elves
  4. Write about the boy that found the dreidel
  5. “All I want for Christmas is….”
  6. Write your most ridiculous Christmas wish list
  7. Write about your favorite holiday tradition
  8. Write about what happened when the child stopped believing in Santa
  9. Write about how they ended up underneath the mistletoe at that precise moment
  10. “The Christmas ball was ruined” / “Why do you think that?” / “There’s a body by the tree!”
  11. Write about the child that went to find Christmas
  12. Interview Santa Claus himself

Those are some prompts that I came up with for this holiday season. I hope you are inspired and get your creative juices flowing.

Happy Holidays!

Best,

Gissel
